Rest Is Not a Reward—It’s a Requirement

You can’t lead on empty. Rest is not optional.
Can I lovingly call you out for a second?
When was the last time you truly rested? Not just a quick break between meetings or a “scroll session” in bed. I’m talking about sacred, soul-level rest—the kind that doesn’t just restore your body, but revives your spirit.
I used to equate rest with weakness. I believed rest was something I had to earn. But God had to remind me: Rest is not a luxury—it’s obedience.
Jesus rested. And if the Son of God needed rest, why do we act like we don’t?

As women who lead, we often pour from a place of pressure. But what would shift if we started pouring from a place of peace?
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Rest isn't a sign you're falling behind. It's a strategy for staying aligned.
The world will keep spinning if you pause. But you might stop thriving if you don’t.
Sabbath is sacred. Your soul was created for rhythm, not burnout.
You’re not just a leader. You’re a daughter of God. He never asked you to lead in your own strength—He invites you to lead from a place of rest in Him. You are worthy of rest. Not because you’ve done enough—but because God says you are enough.
So go ahead—close the laptop, silence the notifications, and sit with your Creator. That rest? It’s not selfish. It’s spiritual strategy.
With peace and purpose,
Belinda
Reflection Questions:
What beliefs have I held that make me feel guilty about rest?
What would embracing a Sabbath rhythm look like in my leadership life?
Where do I need to slow down in order to speed up spiritually?
