When Obedience Feels Uncomfortable but God Says Go

Obedience doesn’t always come with clarity—but it always comes with covering.

Have you ever had that moment where God nudges you to do something that makes absolutely no sense on paper? Yep—me too. There was a season where God told me to walk away from something that looked secure and step into the unknown. There was no detailed plan. No confirmation from the crowd. Just a quiet go.

It stretched me, scared me, and ultimately shaped me into a more courageous, faith-led leader. Sometimes, obedience looks like starting the business with no clients yet. Or saying no to an opportunity that doesn’t align with your assignment. Or walking away from something good to make space for God’s best. It might not make sense to others—and that’s okay. God didn’t call them. He called you.

Clarity often follows courage. Obedience invites both.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Delayed obedience is still disobedience.

  • Faith-led leadership often begins where logic ends.

  • God honors the yes you give in secret, even when no one else sees it.

You don’t need all the details to be obedient. You just need enough faith to take the next step. If it feels uncomfortable, you’re probably on the right track. God is stretching you for the places He’s sending you. So take a deep breath, grab His hand, and say yes—even if it doesn’t make sense.

With faith and forward motion,

Belinda

Reflection Questions:

  1. What has God been nudging me to do that I’ve been putting off because it doesn’t make “sense”?

  2. What fears are keeping me from obeying even when I feel the call?

  3. How has God shown up for me in the past when I took a leap of faith?
